Art and Design

Art and Design specification develops students’ understanding of how meanings, ideas and intentions can be communicated through visual and tactile language.

Business Studies

Citizenship

Citizenship education is a school subject that develops knowledge, skills and understanding that pupils need to play a full part in democratic society, as active and responsible citizens.

English

specification encourages students to explore and respond, both imaginatively and critically, to a variety of texts.

Students use reading to improve their writing and spoken language skills. They also enhance their understanding of how language variations relate to identity and cultural diversity

Geography

This course will deepen understanding of geographical processes, illuminate the impact of change and of complex people-environment interactions, highlight the dynamic links and interrelationships between places and environments at different scales, and develop students’ competence in using a wide range of geographical investigative skills and approaches.

Health and Social Care

Health and Social Care specification provides opportunities for students to develop a broad knowledge and understanding of what is required for working in the health, social care and early years sectors.

History

The Specification aims to encourage students to have an interest and enthusiasm for the past, and develop a range of skills which will be valuable in and outside the workplace.

Home Economics

Home Economics is about home management. This covers many subjects, such as human development, personal and family finance, housing and interior design, food science and preparation, nutrition and wellness, textiles and apparel, and consumer issues.

ICT

 Students explore how digital technology impacts on the lives of individuals, organisations and society. They learn about current and emerging digital technologies and the issues raised by their use in a range of contexts. 

Learning for Life and Work

Learning for Life and Work builds on Personal Development and Mutual Understanding at primary. It aims to bring closer links between the curriculum and the knowledge, skills and capabilities that are necessary for life and work.

Mathematics

Mathematics specification encourages students to develop fluent knowledge, skills and understanding in applying mathematical methods and concepts.

Modern Languages

The study of a modern language develops communication skills. It promotes lanaguage awareness, thereby enhancing literacy.

Motor Vehicle and Road User Studies

Prepares students to become responsible road users.

Music

Specification is for everyone who loves music: composing, playing an instrument, listening to music, or using music technology. It encourages students to develop their musical potential by focusing on performing, composing and listening.

Physical Education

Specification offers opportunities to develop a healthy, active lifestyle and explore a range of physical activities.

Prince's Trust

This course provides a personal development programme for young people aged 13 to 19.

Psychology

Psychology is the study of people: how they think, how they act, react and intact. Psychology is concerned with all aspects of behaviour and the thoughts feelings and motivation underlying such behaviours.

Religious Studies

Specification encourages students to develop an enquiring, critical and reflective approach. They explore religions and beliefs, reflecting on and responding personally to fundamental questions.

Science

Provides the foundations for understanding the world around us and helps develop a sense of excitement and curiosity about natural phenomena, scientific knowledge and understanding and an understanding of he methods of science through different types of scientific enquires.

Delivering inclusive education for children with special needs.

Technology and Design

Encourage pupils to develop creative thinking and problem-solving skills by evaluating design proposals and selecting and using materials that are fit for purpose.

Travel and Tourism

The course will support learners who are interested in learning about the travel and tourism industry alongside other fields of study, with a view to progressing to a wide range of higher education courses.
