Newry High School has a well established Student Council. The membership of the council consists of a representative from each year in the school. The student council serves as the students’ representative body. It initiates and directs student activities, helps share students’ ideas, interests and concerns.
The student council functions with the overall intention of promoting the development of the school and the welfare of its students. The student council has the capacity to:
raise and manage its own funding
organise fund raising events within school hours
organise fund raising events outside of school hours, only once approved by the Principal
organise social events, only once approved by the Principal
voice concerns of issues deemed relevant by the council to the Office
request the distribution of informative letters by the office.
The Student Council meets on a regular basic to discuss any concerns that have been brought before them. Our School Council Representatives are displayed below.
