At Key Stage 3 all pupils study citizenship. It is delivered through PSE in Years 8 and 9. Year 10 have one period per week. There is much emphasis on discussion and active learning which the pupils enjoy. This is enhanced with workshops for whole year groups which are delivered by Non Government Organisations such as War on Want.
Citizenship at Key Stage 4 is studied as part of Learning for Life and Work. This is an optional GCSE. For non exam pupils, citizenship is delivered through PSE. As part of the GCSE syllabus pupils examine issues such as diversity and inclusion, rights and responsibilities and active participation in a democracy.
Year 10 visit Stormont.
